The First Days of School
Welcome to our classroom blog. This is a place where parents can keep informed about classroom activities. These first few weeks of school have gone by fast. The students are beginning to feel more comfortable in our classroom. The main focus these first two weeks has been procedures. However, students have had a good time exploring their new school and classroom centers.
This is going to be a wonderful year.

Christmas
Wrinkled Heart
Students have been learning about the best way to treat their peers. Todays lesson for today was words and actions can be very powerful and can leave a mark on your heart. Each students taught of a time when their heart had been hurt. We compared what the heart looked like before any bad words had been said and after.
Great Expectations: We will not laugh at or make fun of a persons mistakes or use samarium or put downs.

Welcome to the blog
Q: Ms. Figueroa this is the first time I am sending my child to school. I am very nervous and am not sure how to prepare her for the first week of school. Do you have any suggestions?
A: It is very common for students and parents to be nervous about going to school. Speaking to your daughter about school in a positive and fun light is very important in that it shows her you see school as important. Also by bring her to the classroom to see the environment before school starts is also a good option. When students who have a clear picture of where they are going and what activities they will be doing while away from their parents it give them more confidence.
